I've painted all my life. It's my passion.
I sold my earliest work to two galleries in Kent and then to a range of companies including Thomas Howell Kiewit lnternational, New York loss adjusters Axis, CTI of Düsseldorf, and was commissioned to make a series of paintings for a chief executive at Canary Wharf.
I’ve exhibited almost exclusively with the Linda Blackstone Gallery showing work at art fairs in London, Cannes, New York, Dublin, Glasgow and Singapore. In 2005 l was invited to join the Washington Green portfolio of artists, where my work was produced as limited edition prints and sold across the country at art shops and outlets. Washington Green being probably the largest art publisher in the UK.
My paintings create a distinctive mood realised by the setting, the light and the image. Occasionally there’s a narrative but the overall distinctive atmosphere and feel of the picture is paramount.Paris of the 1940s and 1950s has always excited me, as has attempting to create the effects of lit interiors as daylight fails, of lovers’ meetings, of men closing a bar at night, a sense of place, time and mood, and an atmosphere which evokes a sense of excitement in the viewer.
The paintings shown, all oil on canvas, reflect work created over the past few years.
